training & education
I hold a BA in psychology from Point Park University, an MA in psychology from the University of West Georgia, and an MA & PhD in clinical psychology from Duquesne University.
My education at The University of West Georgia centered on humanistic psychology, existential philosophy, and psychoanalytic theory. My later training at Duquesne University focused on existential-phenomenological psychology, and psychoanalytic theory. You can read more about Duquesne University’s unique approach to clinical psychology here: https://www.duq.edu/academics/schools/liberal-arts/academics/departments-and-centers/psychology/graduate-program
I also occasionally teach undergraduate courses in psychology and gender studies, and regularly present my personal research and writing at national and international conferences.
In addition to my background in psychology, I obtained a Master of Science degree in Thanatology from Marian University in the summer of 2024, motivated by my deep passion for existential themes such as finitude, death anxiety, mortality, grief, and mourning
I completed my predoctoral clinical internship & post-doctoral fellowship at The Danielsen Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. At The Danielsen Institute I was trained in relational psychoanalysis and spiritually-integrated psychotherapy.
